If your story beast had a form, what would it be?

The Drift always smells of seaweed and brine, no matter how far from the ocean; it carries the sea's deadening sound. It hovers above the ground, a pea-soup fog reaching tendrils through gunnels and nooks and deep into houses where the unsuspecting sleep. Find yourself awake and trapped within its arms and you could wander until starvation, separated from time and space.

If you could meet one story character, who would it be and why?

Jude Wolf of THE INVOCATIONS--at least lately! She has that wry, worldly wit and humor that I love, and has the somewhat-blinkered belief that nothing can stand in her way.
