What book are you recommending right now?

I can't stop thinking about A Song to Drown Rivers by Ann Liang. It comes out in October and I literally sobbed while reading it.

If your story beast had a form, what would it be?

There's this story about a mythical Jewish sea monster -- the Leviathan -- that says a redeemer will come and slay the sea monster and they will strip its skin to build a sukkah and everyone will dine on its meat. To me, this metamorphosis is my storybeast; how the creation of stories strips us of our skin and transforms us into something new. A sukkah with scaly walls of a once terrifying beast.

If you could meet one story character, who would it be and why?

Maybe Carmilla, so I can ask her about sapphic vampirism for no reason whatsoever.
