If your story beast had a form, what would it be?

On the surface this beast may not seem very exciting, but I’d choose the homing pigeon. Homing pigeons have strong instincts and remarkable internal compasses. They have incredible stamina over long distances and are perseverant. I often write stories about finding home, and I hope that as I venture into new story worlds with messages to be crafted, delivered, and answered, I’ll be able to illuminate ideas of home in meaningful ways for young readers.

If you could meet one story character, who would it be and why?

Charlotte from Charlotte's Web; This story was a childhood favorite of mine, and I found Charlotte inspirational as a steadfast friend who was able to see the immense value in another who was unlike herself. She may be small, but that doesn't stop her from being heroic and mighty in spirit.
